THE ART OF ARMENIAN PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST Call for Entries! The Art of Armenian Photography The ART OF ARMENIAN PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST is an international competition that is open to professional and non-professional photographers alike. The contest is sponsored by Stone Garden Productions, the publisher of the critically acclaimed books OUT OF STONE: ARMENIA AND ARTSAKH and THE STONE GARDEN GUIDE TO ARMENIA AND KARABAGH. PRIZE: Winning images, with the winner’s photo credit line, will be eligible to be published in the upcoming Armenia photography book by Stone Garden Productions. Winning photographers will also receive a copy of the new Armenia photography book upon its publication (Estimated Fall 2008). ENTRY FEE: There is no entry fee and no financial cost of any kind to entrants or to winners. Photographers may enter up to three images. Photographers who submit more than three images may be disqualified from competition. CALL FOR ENTRIES: This is an Armenian photography contest, and the subject of the images must be Armenia or Armenia-related. “Armenia-related” includes images from Armenia, historic Western Armenia, Nagorno Karabagh, and from the Armenian Diaspora. Color or black-and-white images created using either film or digital capture will be considered. Mixed media images, montages, alternative process, and digital manipulations will not be accepted. Categories of competition include: (1) Landscapes; (2) Historical Sites; and (3) Portraits. ENTRY PROCESS: Entries may be submitted as digital files in the JPEG format, or as prints. Is submitting as JPEG, the image size must be at least 1500 pixels wide (or high, if a vertical image). Images entered in the competition should be 72 dpi. High resolution, 300 dpi images, will be requested of the winners. If submitting as prints, the print size must be at least 8 x 10 inches. Images may be sent by e-mail to bedros@stonegardenproductions.com. The words PHOTO CONTEST 2008 must appear in the subject heading of the e-mail. Images may also be sent by regular mail to Stone Garden Productions; PO Box 7758; Northridge, CA 91327. Do not send slides. Images will not be returned. When sending digital files, the name of the file should include your name (YourName.jpg). When sending prints, include your name, phone, and email address on the back of the print. Although JPEG and prints are accepted for competition, winners may be asked to submit high resolution images in TIFF format for publication. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: All entries must be received by June 1, 2008. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for this contest, photographs must be the original work of the photographer, and the photographer must own the copyright to the image. USE OF IMAGES: All entrants agree that any image they submit to the Art of Armenian Photography Contest may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to the Art of Armenian Photography Contest and may also be used in the upcoming photography book by Stone Garden Productions (estimated publication Fall, 2008), and may be featured on www.StoneGardenProductions.com and/or on www.ArmenianPhotography.com.
