THE STONE GARDEN GUIDE: ARMENIA AND KARABAGH is the insider’s guide to Armenia. The authors have each spent more than a decade living and working in the region while researching and writing this comprehensive guide. As a result, this book is the most accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date guide to Armenia and Karabagh that has ever been available. The Stone Garden Guide is the first book to introduce Armenia’s vast biological diversity to a mass audience, and the first to highlight the environmental issues that confront Armenia.

THE STONE GARDEN GUIDE is renown for its photography, as well as its writing. The authors are also professional photographers with an international following, and they created each of the 135 images in the book. Their photography has been published internationally by such high-circulation periodicals as CNN Traveller, Geographical, Photo District News, Photo Life, Frommer’s Budget Travel, Adventure Magazine, the Hartford Courant, and the New York Daily News. The authors also created the award-winning coffee-table book “Out of Stone.”
Many of the maps that are used throughout THE STONE GARDEN GUIDE were created over the course of several years by cartographers with the Birds of Armenia Project of the American University of Armenia and are considered to be the most beautiful, detailed, and accurate maps available for Armenia. Stone Garden Productions produced the maps of the cities and towns of Armenia and Karabagh expressly for this book. The Stone Garden map for Stepanakert, the capital of Karabagh, holds the distinction as the first map ever published for this town.
